Are you guilty of these common marketing mistakes?

on Friday, 24 June 2016. Posted in Web Design, Search Engine Marketing

Thinking with yourself in mind, not your customers?

A logo chosen for personal reasons, a marketing strategy based on family members’ opinions, website content written for the author's ego and not the audience. This has a detrimental effect on marketing efforts, it’s impossible to connect with an audience when not trying to appeal to them.

When focussing too much on our own preferences we lose sight of who will actually buy our products.

It’s important to not get bogged down with our own preferences and lose sight of the bigger picture which is ultimately exceeding potential customers’ expectations. Without understanding your audience it’s impossible to accomplish this.

Launch of Click and Collect Store for Listers

on Thursday, 15 October 2015. Posted in Web Design, Latest News

Last week saw the launch of our latest website design project for renowned local retailer, J.D Lister

Listers became established with a single shop on Finkle Street in Workington in 1870. They went on to develop into a Cumbrian household family name, opening further stores in Workington, Cockermouth, and Carlisle.

The website needed to showcase the wide selection of products which ranged from baby merchandise to large items of furniture.

Listers are a trusted brand, associated with quality and a high standard of customer service, they wanted a website that would reflect these characteristics.

They also requested a 'click-and-collect' service where customers can view stock online and then collect instore. Their new website also has an exclusive gardening club which allows access to expert advice, offers, and benefits.

Responsive Website Design

Now a requirement not an option!

Web design has always been a fast paced medium constantly changing as technology evolves. In the last couple of years we have seen this process quicken as tablets and smart phone flood onto the market. Initially designers focused on building separate mobile sites but as screen sizes expanded this quickly became impractical.

In response developers switched to a responsive approach where websites became flexible, adjusting to fit the screen they were being viewed on. Instead of having to pinch and zoom images and content blocks stacked neatly allowing users to easily scroll through the content.

The benefits of using a local web design provider

Written by William Craig on Thursday, 14 March 2013. Posted in Web Design

When any business, large or small decides to improve their online presence through web design or online marketing there are plenty of options available to them in the market. It can be a difficult decision, from that company you saw with TV adverts to that friend of a friend who's a web designer and everything in between. It's important not to rush into any decisions as it's something you're going to want to get right first time!

So how do you decide?

Well I work for a small design agency so I'm always going to be bias towards choosing a local web design company, but that doesn't necessarily mean I'm not right. Your website is going to be a huge investment for your firm and is a great opportunity for you to increase your market share. No matter what decision you make, no web designer is going to know your business as well as you do so the most important thing is communication and building a relationship with those who are going to create the face of your company online.
