PaintGlow are manufacturers of UV face and body paints, hair gels and cosmetics. Their factory is based in Workington and they distribute their products worldwide.
They were wanting an e-commerce website which would showcase their range of products in an appealing and effective manner.
It was important to maximise the value of each potential website visitor and to reflect their position as a market leader.
These were their goals:
• To sell their range of products online, appealing to both consumer and trade customers.
• A clean and sleek design that encourages trust amongst users.
• An intuitive checkout process
• A design to maximise on visitor potential
• Ability to integrate with CRM’s and warehouse management software.
This was our solution:
The PaintGlow website is based heavily around user experience (UX). The site needed to feel intuitive, supporting users throughout their browsing and purchase experience.
We maximised the value of each visit to the website through a user-focused design, easy for the visitor to find what they’re looking for and effortless for them to navigate through the checkout process.
Related products are shown beneath the product the user is viewing to maximise on the chances to appeal to the user. On the homepage popular products are shown in an attempt to catch the users eye.
We have created a dynamic front page allowing Paintglow’s graphic designer to make changes and create fresh new looks.
We’ve integrated the payment process with Sagepay, Paypal and Stripe to give users multiple, secure payment methods.
Because many of PaintGlow’s products are very small and often don’t warrant expensive shipping prices, each order is calculated based on the size and weight of the order. The cheapest method is then automatically offered.
Logging in is often a stumbling block for users. People use many accounts on shopping websites and it’s just unfeasible to expect them to remember the login details for each.
We’ve therefore taken away the log-in screen which causes the most drop out on e-commerce websites, instead it goes straight into the shipping details, giving you the option of logging in instead of making it a requirement.
We've also made logging in simpler by offering the option to sign in through users' social media accounts.
The website aims to appeal to both trade and the general public, effectively meeting the requirements of each. There’s a tab at the top which links to logins for trade users without taking anything away from the experience for consumers, which integrates with a customer relationship management system (CRM) allowing trade customers full control of their accounts.
There’s a responsive mega menu which shows images on desktop and laptop screens, it appears ‘off-canvas’ for mobile phones and tablets.
The checkout process has a progress bar, so the user is always kept aware of how far they are from their reaching their intended goal.
As the cursor hovers over clickable aspects of the homepage the content boxes appear highlighted, giving a more interactive experience.
